Info

Located within a historic building in Berlin-Rummelsburg, this compact mini-apartment was reimagined and redesigned. A reconfiguration of the floor plan created a home that seamlessly blends comfort, functionality, and family life.

The kitchen was moved into the living room and designed as an open-concept kitchen-dining area—the new heart of the apartment. The former kitchen was converted into a multifunctional room that can be used flexibly as either a children’s room or a home office. Custom-built fixtures allow the space to be utilized optimally and accommodate all functions.

The room’s material palette combines a neutral, subtle yellow with natural woods, creating a pleasant and functional atmosphere for both uses. The new kitchen, on the other hand, features stainless steel surfaces with a fresh blue as an accent color, while the high vaulted ceilings give the apartment a very special character. The goal of the design was to create a kitchen layout that is particularly efficient yet spacious. A kitchen island placed centrally on the wall not only provides additional storage space but also offers a cozy spot for shared meals.
